Sign up to promote fishing in the run up to the General Elec

Dear forum members we need your help,

The Countryside Alliance has launched a Rural Manifesto which has been well received by politicians as we move towards the next General Election. In the wide-ranging manifesto, we are calling on the next government to include outdoor education, including angling, as a fundamental entitlement within the National Curriculum. In addition, we want a future government to fund and empower the voluntary sector to deliver increased opportunities for people to participate in angling and outdoor life. Our charitable arm, The Countryside Alliance Foundation, already carries out this type of work through setting up and funding initiatives such as Fishing For Schools and Casting For Recovery for breast cancer patients.

Outdoor education has proven health and social benefits for children of all academic abilities and adults too and we want to encourage more people to take up fishing. For an organisation that is occasionally accused of not being serious about fishing, the Alliance has invested at least £250,000 into angling projects over the last three years. We will continue to invest in, support and promote fishing. Signing up to our Rural Manifesto doesn't cost anything and will strengthen the chances of achieving our goals. So please, go to countryside-alliance.org.uk and click on the Rural Manifesto button, or call 020 7840 9242 for a Rural Manifesto postcard and by signing up to our Rural Manifesto you will be joining the hundreds of thousands who have already pledged their support.

Kindest regards
