Essential Tackle

Postby Andy » Thu Mar 26, 2009 12:34 pm

I receive quite a few emails regarding the "essential tackle" question, so why not start a thread on this.

Apart from the obvious rod, reel, line etc what do you all consider to be ESSENTIAL kit that you need to take on the day, and the reasons they are truly essential.

I'll start the ball rolling with Polaroid Sunglasses, an absolute MUST for all fly fishermen. I often see people fishing without them and wonder if they realise the disadvantage they are at by not wearing them.
The information gleaned just from wearing them and being observant will give you a massive advantage over anyone not using them.

Degreaser, if fishing dry, indespensible. Don't ry me fish without it for an hour then use it and see the difference.

Degreaser is a MUST,

Wouldn't want to fish without it.

I make my own from Fullers Earth, what do you use?
